A Framework for Reliability Assessment in Expansion Planning of Power Distribution Systems

چکیده

This article proposes a framework that uses analytical assessment of reliability to guide the expansion planning power distribution systems (PDS) considering criteria. The allows estimation indices with and without execution projects, thus supporting decision-making process on investments in projects. In reliability, failure rates zones restoration times are calculated from past data interruptions primary network. addition, estimated adjusted historical values through proportionate length each zone. To test validate proposed framework, it was applied network at bus 5 Roy Billinton Test System (RBTS) also real feeder located Brazil. results indicated can help define most attractive leading improvements reduction unsupplied energy. energy not supplied, considered following alternatives: (i) installation normally-closed sectionalizing switches, (ii) normally-open switches interconnection adjacent feeders, (iii) automation (iv) reconductoring Nevertheless, inclusion other alternatives. Finally, proved be handy useful for real-life applications.

Dynamic Planning the Expansion of Electric Energy Distribution Systems Considering Distributed Generation Resources in the Presence of Power Demand Uncertainty

In this paper, a new strategy based on a dynamic (time-based) model is proposed for expansion planning of electrical energy distribution systems, taking into account distributed generation resources and advantage of the techno-economic approach. In addition to optimal placement and capacity, the proposed model is able to determine the timing of installation / reinforcement of expansion options....

Reliability assessment of power distribution systems using disjoint path-set algorithm

Finding the reliability expression of different substation configurations can help design a distribution system with the best overall reliability. This paper presents a computerized a nd implemented algorithm, based on Disjoint Sum of Product (DSOP) algorithm. The algorithm was synthesized and applied for the first time to the determination of reliability expression of a substation to determine...

A Probabilistic Approach to Transmission Expansion Planning in Deregulated Power Systems under Uncertainties

Restructuring of power system has faced this industry with numerous uncertainties. As a result, transmission expansion planning (TEP) like many other problems has become a very challenging problem in such systems. Due to these changes, various approaches have been proposed for TEP in the new environment. In this paper a new algorithm for TEP is presented. The method is based on probabilisti...

Building a Comprehensive Conceptual Framework for Power Systems Resilience Metrics

Recently, the frequency and severity of natural and man-made disasters (extreme events), which have a high-impact low-frequency (HILF) property, are increased. These disasters can lead to extensive outages, damages, and costs in electric power systems. A power system must be built with “resilience” against disasters, which means its ability to withstand disasters efficiently while ensuring the ...
